If a Specialist smokes/capes a private, do they have to drop with the private?

Is there an AR covering this?

  1. I'm going to guess you're a private who got told to get down by a specialist and you are trying to see the rules on that.  If not, I apologize.

Actually, SPC and below can't tell anybody to get down but some units allow E-4(P)s to drop people who are lower than them.  You need to ask your unit what their rules are according to the subject because actual army regulations allow corporal and above to drop people they outrank without further delegation of authority.

  2. I've always been told this is so, but I can't say I've ever seen anything in print. The exception being team leaders; if you have a Specialist in a position of leadership, they carry the authority of that position, in addition to that rank. That's how it works in my unit, at least.

Corporals and Specialists are the same pay-grade, different ranks. Not Parallel. It's called a lateral promotion because there's no increase in pay.

  3. yes, and no i know of any AR.

  4. A specialist is a parallel rank to corporal.  Whey do you think it's called corporal punishment? LOL

  5. YES. YOU HAVE TO DROP WITH PRIVATES.

    CORPORAL ARE NCO.S IDIOTS

    E4 IS NOTHING.
