Concerning case head failure in Glock .40 caliber handguns.

  1. Most autoloading handguns leave a small portion of the case sitting over the edge of the feed ramp.  That has been the norm for generations, and has worked perfectly well that way.  I wouldn't attribute Glocks' failures to anything but Glock itself.

    To answer your question, YES.  The Springfield XD .40 does indeed have a fully supported case head.


  2. Of the most poular guns, Glock is the only .40 that does not have a fully supported case head. This is a consideratin should you want to shoot really hot loads. I would check with Springfield Armory first, but I believe they do.

  3. probably not what you want to hear, but there is no way I'd spend my $ on a pistol that was made in CROATIA, I only buy guns that were preferably made here, but western european guns are my second choice. Definately not a former USSR, or Brazil, China.
