  1. @ tommy

A 1972 isn't going to have a cat on it.  They weren't required back then.

Anyways, all staitpiping will do is increase the flow of exhuast and make the truck some louder.

  2. no it wont smoke any more...

  3. no thats ridicoulus.

it will actually help because it will flow smoother.

it wont get u a lot of power but it will help the engine breathe better

  4. No putting a straight pipe on will not make it smoke more, in fact if your truck is smoking then i would check on that before going any further on the exhaust, typically when an engine is smoking it means it is burning oil with the fuel, have you checked your oil lately?

  5. If you do it right, the truck can blow smoke rings! I myself think pollution is good. Love it!

  6. my boyfriend is very good with cars, here is his answer." no it will not make it smoke more. if it is smoking you have bigger problems that changing your exhaust wont fix. if you care do a compression and leak down test to try to isolate the problem to the rings or the valves.that if is the smoke is coming from the exhaust. put your straight pipes on then buy a smoking jacket and ear plugs lol , enjoy"

  7. your exhaust system has absolutely nothing to do with how bad your vehicle smokes.

  8. As far as smoke it won't make any difference.

  9. do it dude you get a little more smoke just cuz of not having a cat, but they rob power anyway! ive done it on a whole bunch of old chevy trucks and polluting the environment is deff. the way to go haha
