  1. My Linksys wireless router has 4 jacks for wired connections.

  2. Absolutely.  However, I suggest powerline instead.  Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoBYr3Ezk...

There are 3 problems with wifi:

    security

    signal strength

    speed

Security is not that hard to setup for the average tech enthusiast.    There are way too many people who have wide open networks, or they have networks setup with weak security.

Signal strength goes without saying.  If you are far away from the wireless access point or have several walls between you and the access point, you are going to get a slower connection.

It is fast enough for the most part as far as the theoretical rating, but most wireless networks are half duplex, meaning they transmit or receive.  They do not transmit and receive at the same time.

Powerline does not have any of these issues.  Powerline has been around for a while, it has been standardized, and you always get the best signal strength no matter where you are in the house.

http://www.newegg.com sells several powerline adapters.  If you want to connect your ipod to your network, you will need wireless there.  For that, there are still powerline adapters with wifi built in.

If you get get a wired ethernet connection, that is the best solution.  The next best thing is powerline.

  3. Most do. when your getting ready to by if should tell you how many RJ-45 Connections it has.
