Does a authorized user have the same rights as the main card holder?

On a credit card. I need to call and make a payment. But I'm not sure If I can or not.

It really depends on how secure the credit card company is.

I know, for a fact, that Chase lets really anyone make a payment, they just wont give out any secure information to someone who isn't authorized to hear it.

The thing about being an authorized user is that sometimes your social security number is connected to the account, and sometimes it's not.  if it's not, they don't really have any way to confirm who you are when you call in.  Again, the fact that you're just calling to make a payment might mean less security precautions.

You wont know for sure unless you give a call.  Again, difference companies have varying policies.

Yes, I think if you are authorized you have all of the same rights. At least I do on my boyfriends bank account. I would imagine a credit card would be the same.

Yes, same rights.  Except, I would imagine, an authorized user can't cancel the account but he/she can remove his/her name as an authorized user.  If you're authorized to use the card then all the terms and conditions of that card apply to you too.

yes u can. U can use the card however u want the authorized user has allowed u too. I have one with my girlfriend and she can't take the cash advance from the card.  That's all.

But for making payments and paying the bills it's allowed anyways.

Shouldn’t be a problem. It’s more than you can’t make changes to the account. Most of the time when you make a phone payment you’re not speaking to a live person anyway; it’s all an automated system.

Yes You can!  They will take a payment from ANYONE!  :)

As a authorized user you are not responsible for making the payments but you certainly can if you want to.
