  1. Look at Blu-ray disc players from Sony, Philips,Panasonic,

Samsung, Pioneer, Sharp and LG. Some of their players

will play the regular DVD format.  As for playing a

DVD from other country code not area code it remains the

    same.

  2. yep

i even got boot leg dvd's to work on it

Lol don't get a blu ray playa get a PS3

    cheaper and its got games/music

  3. yes it will.........you know hes right you should probably get a PS3....lol

  4. Yes.

  5. Blu-ray players will not play DVDs if it's the wrong region. Even a PS3 won't play the wrong region DVD.

  6. I don't think the other responses are answering your question. If I understand it the question is "does a Blu-ray player play all DVDs, irrespective of region?

    The answer is no.

Blu-ray will play DVDs, but it respects region coding for DVDs and play only those from the region specified by the player.  In other words a Blu-ray player purchased in the UK, for example, will only play normal DVDs coded for all regions or for the UK (Region 2).
