Does a broken 4X4 indicate other problems?

if the 4x4 isnt being used, does it have any affect on daily 4x2 driving? and does it suggest that there may be more serious problems at hand?

  1. I dont completely understand your question. are you asking if not using the 4wheel drive causes problems to the 4x2??

    your answer is no.  

    IF you are saying that the 4x4 is broken, does it affect the 4x2? then your answer is maybe.  IF your 4x4 isn't working it might be that your front driveline has slipped out, and you are draining fluid from the tranny, which would be bad for the 4x2 also.

    but like i said, if the 4x4 is working then it should cause no problems.

  3. Ithink i can answer your question for you.The answer is no it won't hurt anything,you will just have a 2 wheel drive and not a 4 wheel drive .I believe that.s what you wanted to know.

  4. no it will not have any effect on daily driving. and no it does not suggest any serious problems at hand. engage the 4x4 mode as it will offer better traction.
