Does a business owner have to pay sales USe Tax in California on the total Sales of the busienss? help!!?

Printing Company I buy Paper at a whosale price sell it for retail to Customers. I also charge labor, typesetting, and other fees necessary. Taxation code 6094.5 I just don't understand if I just charge for mark up on paper or, charge for the total services rendered.

  1. California sales tax on printing can be kind of complicated. Most of your charges are going to be subject to tax, but some might not be. You should read the regulation referenced below that applies specifically to printers.

    I'm not sure why you reference 6094.5. It refers to a penalty you can be charged if you knowingly issue a resale certificate for products you are not going to resell.
