Question:

Does a chemical exist that breaks down hard stool to avoid clogged toilet?

PLEASE do not recommend a diet change/laxatives. This is for when it's too late for that.

My question is whether or not a chemical (or combo) exists to help stool break down quicker once it's IN the toilet. Bleach overnight

hasn't helped.

Some meds produce hard, large stool that clog the toilet. A known side-effect, under doc's care constantly. Doc gave a "laxative cocktail" taken nightly plus diet changes that usually work, but every once in a while: hard, large stool that clogs. Now, we leave it for a while to dilute, but that isn't practical and it can take over a day.

Again, no health-related replies please. Sorry to repeat but all the answers from previous post were suggestions for laxatives, stool softeners and med attention which are all being done.

My question is what to put in toilet to chemically break down stool for easy flushing - or if something exists to help.

Thanks in adavnce to anyone who offers practical, informed solutions.

  1. Stool is not  stone or a bone that needs breaking.Chemical breaking is not at all needed. Regular moderate flushing of toilet with ordinary tap water is the answer. It does not require any chemical treatment. If someone does not flush his toilet properly then of course sulphuric acid / benzoic acid available in market to remove stains are good enough.

  2. Honestly, and this will be gross, but the best thing for you to do is going to be bend an old coat hanger and 'chop' up the stool, so that it is in small enough peices to go through the piping without getting stuck.
