  1. no, they just need to wash their hands and take the medicine from the dr

  2. YES

  3. yes vit is an excuse to get out of class

  4. I agree with the few people on here who actually know what they are talking about.

Both of my children had PINWORM, they got them while we were in Florida, on vacation.

They usually take a ONE dose wormer type medication, that can cause diarrhea, and stomach issues in SOME people.

Make sure anyone who has ANYTHING to do with the child's bathroom routine washes their hands thoroughly.

It should NOT require a doctors note to stay home, it is a simple treatment.

  5. First of all, ringworm is a fungal infection, not an actual worm. It causes ring like blisters on the skin. It is highly contagious but easily killed with a bleach solution or even OTC Foot fungal cream.

Pinworm is highly contagious as well, it is an intestinal worm that is passed very easily from person to person from casual contact, you can even get it from touching a grocery cart which has been previously used.

Children should take time off, but usually don't because a majority of Americans have pinworm and don't even realize it. You can look for yourself, at night, for the actual worm. They emerge at night to lay eggs. The doctor will test for worms by basically laying a piece of tape and look for eggs under a microscope.

A diet high in acidic fruits like orange and pineapple can reduce the likelihood of pinworms settling in, but a single dose of medicine from the doctor can also eliminate.

    Good luck

  6. Yes. Pinworm is a very contagious skin disease that will infect other chidren if they touch an item that the infected child previously touched. Very spreadable, just like lice or a cold. Keep the child at home with disinfectant handy, and lots of wipes. Until the pinworm disappears, it's best to keep the child almost completely solitary. If in contact, use hand sanitizer and wash hands with soap thoroughly.

  7. IDK wat that is but if it has the suffix "WORM" after it i wouldn't risk it.

  8. whats pinworm again?????????????? ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i still dont know

  9. Pinworm can be extremely aggravating. It is definitely something to stay home from school for. Luckily, there is an OTC medication you can take for pinworm. You only have to take it once and it definitely helps.

Btw, ringworm and pinworm are nothing alike. Ringworm develops and eats away your insides. Pin worm causes your butt to be extremely itchy and uncomfortable!

  10. Yes it's very contagious....even you should get tested because you can get infected as well.

  11. you remember what they told us in school if you dont have pinworms for everybody then you cant have any

  12. What the h**l is pinworm? Do you mean Ringworm? I never heard of pinworm!

  13. if you meant ringworn then YES they do since it is very contagious try putting on blue star it stops the itch!

  14. WHATS THAT

  15. What is pinworm?

  16. Pin worm is a nematode, a small pin sized white colored worm that causes infection of the terminal part of the intestine especially anorectal area and causes itching in the anal area. The infection is spread by fecal oral transmission, contact your doctor treatment is simple and effective, there is no need of isolation, good hygiene, hand washing, trim the nails nicely with a nail cutter

  17. I don't think so..

I had pinworm as a child once (From a friend of mine spending the night with me in my bed (Non-sexua.. you know, two 10-year old girls having a sleepoverl)).  I don't think it's transmitted very easily (accept that at night they come out of the bum, so two people sharing a bed can transmit it)

So unless the child is ill (I remember very violent stomach issues when I took the dewormer and dewormed..diarreah.. had to go to the bathroom every 10 min)...then I say no..

basically.. all the child has to do is take simple pills for a certian period of time and they're cured.. I know I was..(again.. refer to my description of my reaction while deworming)  Once later I thought I had more, and mom caught me digging in a drawer for the leftover pills and asked me why I hadn't just told her I thought I still had it.. but turned out I didn't..

I think Letica is thinking of ringworm...

  18. well if its ringworm... or simmilar to ring worm then yes, becaues i know you can give ring worm to people, so if there anything alike then you can spread it. no school!
