Question:

Does a collision/police report include passengers that are not deceased or injured.?

I was in an accident and the other person had a passenger in their car. None of us were hurt, but im wondering if the police report will mention that there was a passenger in the other car. i dnt know if it makes a difference but i live in new jersey.

  1. Almost certainly.  My son rear-ended a car full of illegals, who were all fine at the accident scene.

    Then, probably after seeing a TV ambulance chaser advertising, they were all hurt.

    Anyway, that's why they put everybody in the vehicle on the report.


  2. Yes it will and it is done for every ones protection.

  3. Yes. I'm in Texas. Last year I was rear ended in a 4 car chain. The police report listed all vehicles, the number of occupants, whether or not anyone was injured, and if there were children in the car.

  4. Well, in California it does mention if there were passengers in the car and whether or not they are injured.

  5. I believe if no passenger is hurt, then the traffic accident report will only mention passengers if they were directly or indirectly causing the accident, eg. their numbers are over the allowable seating capacity, they have distracted the driver before the accident happened, etc.

    Having said that, their names and ID may be recorded in case the police or insurance company need statements of  witness in future.
