  1. they can be loud  and in regards to friendly you have to know the bird a yung sun conure is great personality again without attention can get loud

  2. i have a green cheeked conure and i love her to bits but she is a lot of work. she can be loud when she wants to be and can be quite nippy even though she is very tame. she is very snuggly and will lay on her back on my lap to get tickled. my advice is go to a good breeder one who hand rears not just hand feeds and spend time with any babies that they are feeding. you can sometimes pick a baby that you want and go back and forth visiting it until its ready to go home ,get a good sized cage plenty of toys and a playgym for out of cage time (try to provide at least 3 hours a day) and research, research, research! try this place www.birdboard.com

remember you could be talking at least £200 for the bird £150 for a good cage and then toys, food and treats

  3. Conures can make really good pets, but they are known screamers.  You may want to get a cockatiel or love bird.  Love birds chatter a lot, but don't scream like a conure does....

  4. I do not believe Bianca at all,,

Green cheek conures are known as apartment birds, because they do not scream.they are quiet, lovable playful, cuddly, need lots of human attention, I have 2,Green cheek conures,,best pet I've ever had..and I've had all kinds of pets..Go for it. when the bird bonds to you, You cannot believe the love and affection you get from this bird.. Tip! Be sure the bird is Hand Held used to people before you buy it..

You may want to check out you tube and look at some videos of them..

If I may add. my son wanted a pet, uncertain which kind to get, he also had many,, We got him a Green cheek conure, within 1 week the bird comes when they call, he is playful, loves to be held cuddled and scratched around the neck.. he is so happy. says it's the best pet he's ever had.. Good luck

  5. If you want a conure I suggest a green cheek conure, because they are quieter then the larger breeds of conures.

And upon meeting the bird in person if you can not handle it yourself or it does not seem tamed TO YOU, then keep looking around. Because green cheek conures can be mean to new owners unless they warm up to you as soon as you meet them in person the first day. Otherwise please don't chance it because they are known to bite if they do not like you and it is no fun to get bitten all the time by these birds.

I had a lady visit me to try and sell me her bird and when she turned her head to kiss the bird, it bit her lip and would not let go no matter what she did. She bled all over the place and she also took her bird home with her too. Then I went to visit another person with one, and upon entering their home, their bird got on my shoulder and has been my best buddy ever sense. So it pays to pay for the bird you want without having to worry about being bitten all the time.

  6. Well it depends on what you wanthe bird for...

If you want something that is pretty and makes a lot of noise but is more on the independent side go for it.

If you want a cuddle bird- go for a goffins cockatoo-- not too big and not too small, perfect temperment and is very easy to train.

Conures are very pretty birds... but for a pet, in my opinion, the constant jibber jabber of a conure is almost unbearable, and they're not that cuddly either.. I have a macaw and his scream is louder then any other parrot.. but the constant noise of a conure not even I can handle.

ALSO-- ALL birds are different and I've heard of ppl who have GREAT experiences with a conure- this is just what I've experienced.
