  1. No. That is one of it's advantages over a film camera. They also have the advantage of seeing the picture as soon as it is taken, rather than having to wait to have the film processed.

    There are several other advantages, such as "white balance" and "digital zoom". Other than that, they are pretty much replacing film cameras, as the film has become so expensive (processing included), and editing and re-printing is so much easier with digital media. The quality will never really get up to where it can compete with film, but for most purposes, digital photography has become excepted.


  2. No it takes a memory card depending on the camera it may be a XD or SD or any other cards. SD are the most common
