  1. A dvd player with divx capabilities can play .divx, .avi, .dat, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, .mp4, .mp3, , etc basically..

    I ain't sure about mkv files

    Have to check the player's manual to know about supported file formats.

NO, divx was a bigger joke then beta. it was a circuit city idea, create a dvd player that also plays divx discs. they no longer sell divx discs, it was a disc you would buy for 5 dollars and you got to watch that movie for 48 hrs from the original time you put it in the dvd player. then you could re view for 2.50 at a later date. it was a rental type format. it lasted all of 8 months.
