Does a employer have to pay an employee hourly if he works certain hours and is on commission but made no $?

ok i worked with a copany and was made to work 12 to 630pm now i was on a commission base but did not make any sails but i was there for my shift are they responsable to pay me for the time any way or was i working for free basecly

  1. yes, you need to be compensated at least minimum wage for your time. working for free is illegal.

    you really need to speak with a manager, supervisor, or human resources and find out how much you are being paid.

    it seems that you may in a position where the company might take advantage of you, so you really need to get said information.

  3. If you are a waiter or waitress they have to,and I am sure they have to with what ever you were doing,but you wont keep that job long if you dont make any sales.
