Does a filterfall(waterfall filter) do the same thing as a biological filter?

I've got a skimmer and the waterfilter do I need other kind of filter from my 2500 gallon pond? I'm wanting to buy a ultraviolet sterilizer also.

I have a 1000 gallon fishpond with a two-tier waterfall.  I built it myself two years ago.

My biofilter is at the top of my waterfall.  It contains a bag of "rainblow blocks", which are essentially sponges.

I also have a pre-filter on my waterfall pump.

I thought about buying a UV sterilizer.  However, due to the expense I opted to use beneficial bacteria tablets.  I also have water lilies and assorted goldfish to keep the pond balanced.  My pond has a lot of moss but the water is clear.

I would say that both a UV sterilizer and biofilter might be overkill, but if you can afford them both, go for it!
