Does a fuel body spacer realy increase hp by 20 and improve gas milage by about 4 miles?

and if it does not increase by 20 does it still give u a little extra power

put on my chevy 350 and i cant tell a difference only thing i got was hood clerance issues

Here's my take on "gimmick" products that claim to increase fuel mileage.  THEY DON"T WORK!!!  

Put it this way, the federal government is constantly cracking the whip at manufacturers to increase fuel mileage and cut down on emissions so that being said, if it was as easy as putting a spacer between the throttle body, don't you think they would of done that from the factory?  

They simply don't work and you will be making someone rich, and it won't be you.

i don't know about the 20 horse claim...i have one on my ride and it has increased the fuel mileage somewhat ..4 miles a gallon...no...maybe 1-2 mpg.difference....horse power on my car ...cant tell much difference....but I figured it has paid for itself after 6 months of driving...

They change the volume of the intake, which alters where the power band is at. So it will increase HP at a specific point in the RPM range, but you will loose performance else were.

As for gas mileage, I don't think so. Because even if it reduced the temperature of the throttle body, it does not keep the intake manifold cooler and in most cases it is heated with the engine coolant.

I don't know that those numbers are true. I do know of a company that makes spacers for my car and other Nissans and I've talked with the company and read on forums that this company is reputable.

The spacers they make are made of an insulating type of material called phenolic. The gains are no where near that and they aren't just a single spacer.

This kit gets 5-10hp on all of the cars it is made for.
