  1. Yes.  When the moon is in line with the Earth and the Sun, the tides are the strongest.  This is true for a New Moon and a Full Moon; New Moon has them lined up Earth/Moon/Sun, and this is the strongest.  Full moon line up is Moon/Earth/Sun, and this is the next strongest.

  2. yes. moon affects any tides

  3. The height of the high tide changes over the course of the month.

It is highest at new moon and full moon and lowest at first and third quarters.

  4. The moon,  exercises a definite influence on our earth, its gravity even causing a difference of over 50 feet [15 meters] between high and low tides in some places. According to three French scientists, the moon’s gravity is now believed to be what keeps the earth’s axis inclined 23 degrees, thus ensuring a regular change of seasons. (Nature, February 18, 1993)

Sorry, it just said moon, and gravity. Not full moon.

    I found this interesting also.

That the moon causes the ebb and flow of the earth’s ocean tides has long been known. However, the French magazine Terre Sauvage reports that scientists from CNRS (French National Center of Scientific Research) now affirm that the moon has a similar effect on the earth’s land surfaces.

By means of a probe placed in a pool of brine in a sealed cave 3,300 feet [1,000 m] beneath the earth’s surface, researchers were able to detect a rise and fall of the cave’s contents every 12 hours. This movement, caused by the minute expansion and contraction of the cave’s walls, corresponds to the moon’s rotation around the earth and proves that the moon is indeed the source of what Terre Sauvage calls the “surprising subterranean respiration.”

Imagine fishermen walking down to the seashore, ready to carry out their early morning routine of preparing their boats and nets. As usual, they hope for a good catch of fish. But to their astonishment, a horrible sight meets their still sleepy eyes. Thousands of fish have washed ashore—dead. The cause of this mass destruction? A RED TIDE!

RED TIDES are a global phenomenon. They have been observed on both the Atlantic and the Pacific coasts of the United States and Canada. They have also occurred in Australia, Brunei, northwestern Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and other places. Though relatively few people are aware of them, red tides are not new.

  5. The moon affects tides but it's because of the moon's mass & gravity, not of its phases, the near face of the moon pulls the water of the sea stronger than the opposite face of the earth is pulling it, the sun also does it.

  6. On a full moon day(as well as on a new moon day),the gravitational force of the sun reinforces that of the moon and the height of the tide(specifically the range between a high tide and a low tide) becomes more. This is called spring tide.
