  1. Good Evening,

There is no difference between a Full car licence, and a Provissional. You will have to take a CBT Test.

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) Courses can be taken dependant on the size of bike in which you intend to ride.

    Age 16 = 50cc

    Age 17 = 50cc and 125cc

    Age 21 = All sizes

Although you may have 'Car' on your licence, bikes are totally different, and as just mentioned, the fact it is full entitlement does not have any extra benifits, bike related.

I'd like to give you this website address, I fully reccomend it.

  2. When you say motorcycle, what exactly do you mean? If you mean something more than a moped, then, no you can't. You have to take a test called a CBT,which usually takes a day, and costs around a £100. This allows you to ride up to a 125cc with L-plates for two years.Unless you take a proper bike test within that 2 years, then you can just do a refresher CBT every 2 years.

  3. no

  4. i `believe you can ride a moped (50 cc engine ) with "L" plates on a full licence but thats all,

  5. No you have to do a CBT test - Compulsory Basic Training to be allowed on the road with L Plates.

  6. A full UK Driving license, however, gives you an provisional motorcycle licence with no time restrictions. (Don't forget that you still need a valid CBT certificate...).Full car licence holders riding mopeds

If you pass a car driving test after

1 February 2001 you will be required to undertake a CBT course before riding a moped on the road unless you already hold a full motorcycle or moped licence.

If you already hold a full car licence, or passed a car test before 1 February 2001, you are not required to take a CBT course before riding a moped but you are encouraged to do so.

Your motorcycle dealer or local council road safety officer can give information on local CBT courses – also see adverts in local papers and telephone directories – or contact the DSA on 0115 901 2500 and select the CBT option.

  7. Not unless you already have that category on the licence. The only relief from the route of CBT - Theory test - Practical test is that if you obtained your car licence before 1 February 2001 you do not need to complete a CBT to ride a moped.

You'd still have to abide by the provisional rules of L plates etc. and take your tests for a motorcycle.

  8. no you neede to do a seperate course now which gives you a motor cycle lisence

  9. Your paper licence will give you this information as to what you can drive.
