Does a hair straightener uses a lot of energy?

my mother is bitching that my hair straigthener is the cause of our high electricity bill so i decide to find out the truth...i appreciate any kind of help thanks...

Look at the power consumption on it (for example 100W it may be on the label), then multiply by the length of time you use it every day in minutes, divide by 60, multiply by 365, divide by 1000.  Then look on your electricity bill and find the price of electricity in KWh, multiply the previous result by the price and you have the price for a year of hair straightening.

    I just realised hair straighteners use very little power, less than a light bulb, so you probably use more electricity having the light on than actually using the apparatus.  As a comparison, one tumble drier cycle probably costs about 100 times more...

    Electricity prices vary from one place to another, where I live if I used it every day for 30 minutes, it would cost me about 1€ a year, (about 1.5$)
