  1. All things considered, it depends what style of poker you play.  I like NLHE tournaments and sit and goes whereas for ring games I prefer limit.  Sit and go tournaments require patience and as the other poster said, a lot of discipline to take the bad runs in stride.

  2. I'm a poker dealer and player...Skill to win consistently because you have to know how to work with a bad run of cards and still hold on to your chips.

  3. I'd say it would be argued that this type of poker is a very skilled game.

There are no free pots, sitting back and folding for a while.  It is an intense heads up competition one on one.  Much harder than playing at a full table.

  4. The skill level of Texas Holdem tournament games is generally based on the blind structure. The longer the intervals, the lower the starting blinds, and the lower the blind increases, the more skill required to play and win. The opposite, large blinds, short intervals and high blind jumps,  is considered to be a tournament that requires a great deal of luck to win. Also when there are fewer players at the table, more experience and skill are requirements to win.

Heads up tournies do require a high level of skill to win consistently more than luck.

    Good luck!

  5. Heads up in general requires more skill than any other form of poker whether it`s heads up or a cash game.  The reasons for this are that there`s no sitting back here and you`re involved in every hand strategy wise in addition to being the form where you play your opponent at every turn.  There`s nowhere to run nowhere to hide in heads up.  The good news though is that if you hone your skills since skill is at the forefront here then you will do best at heads up and there are some serious games out there where you can rack up the chips.
