If it doesn't can it still be used with bunny ears after the switch?

  1. No, the digital tuner is built in to a HD set.

If there is an antenna connection on the back of the set, any good quality, UHF/VHF antenna should work.  Rabbit ears should work if you are in a strong signal area, if not you may need a better antenna.  There is no such thing as an HD or digital antenna.  The same antennas we've been using for 50 years still work in the digital world.

Remember with digital, if you are not getting a good enough signal into the set, it will appear as if nothing is there even though you are getting a marginal signal.  Most full power TV stations have had digital signal in the air since about 2002 so there really isn't any reason not to try it out now!

  2. no i hope not

  3. You don't need a converter box, but its probably better if you get an antenna thats made for receiving hd signals.

  4. Is the TV have HD built-In or is it just HD Ready?

If you're currently watching HD with the rabbit ears and are not using another box then it is built-in and you will NOT need a converter box.

You may want to consider getting a better Over the Air (OTA) antenna.  They run around $50 and you may be able to pick up a lot more channels.

Some older HD ready TV will need a converter box though or will need cable or satellite.

Most HDTVs made after 2004 have HD built-in.
