  1. Even though international licence is valid for one year from the date of its issue, UK only allows it to be used in UK for 180 days only from the date of entry in UK. If a person is staying more than 180 days he/she must get a UK Driving Licence after 180 days of stay in UK. Only EU Licences are valid for the period of Three years to be used in UK (someone holding DL from an EU country can drive on it upto the period of three years from the date of Entry in UK).

  2. I think any license works in the UK, but only if you're visiting. If it's international than I assume it would work anywhere... where was it issued?

  3. You can show an international license when driving, but be prepared for questions.

They're going to ask you whose car you're driving, if it's not a rental, and who the owner is in relation to you. They're trying to find out whether or not you live in the country or are just visiting. If you're just visiting, it's fine, but if you have temporary or permanent residence in the country then you are required to obtain a local license.

  4. Only for tourists.

If he is shifting permanently he needs a UK licence.

  5. no it does not. why are u even coming to the uk?
