  1. Pain is common following a herniorrhaphy (hernia repair).  This pain can last up to a year and sometimes longer.  Scar tissue forms following surgery and this can cause a small amount of pain as your body adjusts to it.  The amount of pain and the length in which you feel it also depends on the type of hernioplasty was performed.  If you are in the United States, chances are you did not have a "tension" repair but more likely had a "tension-free" or mesh repair.  The mesh repair has a lower recurrence rate and generally causes less post-operative pain.  It would also depend on whether the surgery was laparoscopic or open.  I would not be concerned if it is just a little pain.  If it becomes more severe then you should talk to your doctor.

  2. proabably scar tissue, but if pain worsens or become moderate to severe, your Dr should do a check up.

if its just a little pain, you should be fine.
