  1. lob but you need a descending swing

  2. Both have similar spin ratings but of course the types of grooves is very important.  The newest being square grooves like clevelands "zip grooves" wedges which obtain the most spin.  Of course....your technique in swing with either club will ultimately get you the spin results most want (like the pros).

  3. More loft generally means more spin, so with all other factors being equal, it would be the lob wedge.

Grooves play a HUGE part in the spin, so an older wedge will cause less spin, even if it does have more loft -- which is why many people find a wedge they like and buy a number of them, so they can replace them as they become worn, and have a new one with the same feel.

  4. Depends on the wedge, the grooves on the wedge, and conditions.

If they were the exact same type wedges with the exact same grooves, they produce very similar spin rates. The lob wedge might seem like it spins more, but really it just flies higher, so with a higher ball flight and more spin= stops faster.

  5. The lob wedge, with all things being equal except for the loft being 60 degrees instead of 56 with a sand wedge.

  6. l-wedge
