Or just the bread, pasta rice and grains?

Because I've noticed that most fruit are high in carbs.

  1. Bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, peas, lentils and nuts are all starchy carbohydrates whereas fruit is non-starchy carbohydrates.

Low carb diets are diets low in starchy carbohydrates but non-starchy carbohydrates such as fruit are never excluded from such diets.

Starchy carbohydrates are supposed to be fattening whereas non-starchy carbohydrates are not fattening.

  2. Just avoid fruits with high GI levels like durians, mangoes and bananas...all other fruits are great...fruits are a good source of disaccharides,or simple sugars that can be burnt off easily,so dont forget to eat fruits!too much fruit will just make your tummy uposet,NOT make you gain fat...fruits are the best source of minerals to strengthen your muscles,so workout often and see the amazuing results!God bless you

  3. no, fruit has fibre.

  5. Okay, first off you dont want to go on a low carb diet. Your body needs carbs!! Trust me..and fats..(the good kinds) and protein..what you need more of is FIBER! Get the book. "The F-factor diet" its amazing..i read it in 2 days by tanya Zuckerbrot its like 15 bucks in paper back..its been featured on EXTRA n celebs have heard of it an so on..okay so..NO eliminating carbs..what u need to do is eat them in moderation..

YES fruit has carbs..like apples..bananas, etc..some have fiber some dont..but u dont gain weight by eating carbs..thats the whole misconception u gain weight by eating TOO MANY carbs...ppl pverload on carbs and dont realize what is happening when they do this..

Your body needs carbs which provide glucose..which gives ur body energy.. because it uses them to wake u up in morning, to get u thru the day, to run all ur errands, work out late at night, get thru class and work etc.

So whether u eat a bagel, an apple, or a cup of yogurt..these all break down in ur body as glucose..(sugar) then glucose is stored in ur body and called glycogen..OKAY so keep with me here..

Your body only has to places to store glycogen (remember glycogen in just sugar that has broken down from the foods u ate) it stores it in the liver and in the muscles. The liver needs all its glycogen to to give to the brain and heart and respiratory system.. The muscles store it because they need it for that "fight or flight" syndrome..like if suddenly u have to run away from a dog..u need that extra boost of energy to get u moving within an instant..and thats coming from ur muscles..OKAY so..u eat all ur carbs right? n then u fill all ur stores (the liver and muscles) because they can only hold so much glycogen...

so what happens then when u keep eating carbs but ur liver and muscles stores are full?? WELL ur body is smart and still sees the extra glycogen coming in and says "well i may need that later for energy and i dont want to waste it so ill just store it sokme place else where ever i have room" AND GUESS WHERE THE ROOM IS...

UR HIPS..THIGHS..BUTT..ARMS..eveerryyywwhhe... Your fat stores are limitless..meaning it will just keep storing and storing aaalllll around ur body and THATS how u get fat...SO DONT ELIMINATE cabrs because u need the, to have ur body function properly..but watch how much u eat..if u eat them for breakfast like a bagel..u can have chicken for lunch (protein) and a small apple..and so on,...but dont do something like bagel for breakfast, huge white bread sandwich for lunch and pasta n mashed potatoes for dinner..

TRUST me on the fiber thing..get th book it will change ur life! Fiber is the best thing for u to eat and not many ppl know it..ur body doesnt digest it..so it literally goes straight thru u digestive tract n u add no calories.

  6. No, fruit is good for you- fiber, natural sugars and vitamins, probably one of the best things you can eat. You need carbohydrates to survive, so just cut down on the amount that you eat, don't cut out the source. Also, eating more natural foods are better for you. Don't eat out as often, just go and buy unprocessed, more natural foods. Fruits, raw veggies, oats, natural grains, juices, nuts and beans, sesame seeds are good for you also. They have alot of that stuff at meijer and Kroger.
