Does a mammogram hurt that bad?

I was wondering what your experience with it was. I have heard that they don't hurt and other women have told me they were in tears. Do they really flatten your breast until it's like a pancake? It sounds really painful and very scary. From all the stories I have heard it actually makes me not want to go. How was your experience with a mammogram? Thanks!

I'm sensitive too and it didn't hurt at all. The positions you have to stand in are a little awkward though. Don't be scared. It's worth it!

it's better than the alternative and getting breast cancer and dying. Suck it up and go!!!! It's not that bad!!!

It isn’t surprising that women worry about whether a mammogram will hurt.  For some women it is just uncomfortable.  But it really depends on your breast size and pain threshold.  Other women do feel some  pain.  But it only lasts while you are having the test, so it is only a few moments. The person doing the exam will make you as comfortable as possible during the examination dont worry it will be absolutely fine i promise you. If you want some support you are allowed to take a friend with you, that will relax you a bit more aswell. Yes it is true they flatten your b*****s so they can get a better picture but i wouldnt go as far as to say like a 'pancake'. I would say go its not as bad i promise you, take a friend to support you and i wish you all the best.
