Does a multi-line phone go into 1 phone jack???? HELP !?

Question

i am going to buy a 3-line lcd phone. Does that require 3 phone jacks ? ? BECAUSE I HAVE 1 phone jack .

PLEASEEE.. HELLPP !!

Hi paulandm:Multi line phones are usually 2 dialtone lines or 4 dialtone lines.DO NOT Confuse a 3 line LCD display as being a 3 dialtone line phone. If it is truly a 3 dialtone line phone,some of them have L1 & L2 on one JK & L3 on a separate JK. Others have a 6 wire JK that handles 3 dialtone lines. There are 6 wire JKS available for 3 dialtone lines. I hope this answers your question.  exbelltel

normally, 3 line keyless phones come set up for line 1 and line 2 on one outlet and line 3 on a second.... however, you can also use an RJ25 and have all three lines (three pairs) on one jack.
