  1. It retains it's National Guard status but while on deployment orders the unit is on active duty title 10 orders.  This goes on you DD 214 and is important should you need veterans benefits in the future.


  2. Nope.  It remains what it is always an ANG unit.  Army National Guard.  You are always an Army unit, just an Army National Guard unit.  Whether you are in the US or overseas.
