  1. If your wear prescription eyeglasses, then you probably should get colored contacts in your prescription.  Any type of contact lens should be prescribed by a doctor.

  2. Your perscription for glasses lasts up to 3 yrs. You have to go back to the doctor every one yr. to get contacts. But for your initial visit to get contacts you will have to go to the doctor for a contact fitting appt.

  3. No. Your eyeglass Rx is not interchangable with a Contact Lens Rx.

You need a seperate Rx for Contacts that give a brand/material, size, and strength.

Most of the time the strength is not the same as your glasses Rx for several different reasons (vertex distance/compensated power, astigmatism/spherical equivalent, etc.).

Basically you need to see your OD to get fitted, diagnostic lenses, and follow ups for the first year.
