Does a order of protection effect me in a background check

You see I had a final order of protection but I couldn't afford a attorney and am without a job right now but still the bottom of the order I got the judge to put down exchange of the child will be at the police dept If the judge was so concerned why would they let me see my child

  1. To few details. If you have a history of violence with your ex, in other words the police have been called for problems at your home, or you have been arrested, forget it. Many divorce situations have a temporary restraining order as a matter of course until the divorce is final. If this goes beyond the final divorce and there is a reason, like your behavior, you have no chance of becoming a police officer.


  2. If you are the named party in a protective order, that will not appear on a general criminal background check....UNLESS you violate the court order.  Then you will have at least an arrest for violating a court order, if not a conviction.

    BTW exchanging children at your local police station for visitation, custody is a great way to avoid any misunderstandings in the future.
