I have an item that went thru my bank and it is in the pending section but it was an item that when i set up an electronic check the company said that the system had an error and it did not work so i told them that i would send a money order instead and took the money out of the bank well they were wrong and my account now shows that the item is pending but my account is overdrawn since it is an account only set up for that item i only leave the amount needed but now i do not know if the merchant has received payment or if the bank will return it ??? i have the money order and don't want to send it unless it is returned otherwise i want it back in the bank to bring my account to normal ...sorry kind of long ! but anyways how do you know if a pending transaction was paid for by the bank ? what would you see if it was to not pay it ???or i guess bounce ? thank you for the help and sorry for the long explanation ! : )

  1. pending = not yet decided or settled; awaiting conclusion or confirmation.

According to the definition, I take it to mean that the bank hasn't yet paid.
