Does anyone know if persimmons grow on bushes or on established trees?

  1. Trees that reach 30 to 40'  The Persimmons turn a golden orange when ripe, and then they fall to the ground. The deer love them. Very popular in Asian cultures. If not quite ripe will give you a significant dose of pucker power. Many varieties available, but usually in specialty nurseries.

  2. The normal habit of a persimmon (Diosporos virginana for the American  or D. kaki for the Asian) is a tree, but it can be maintained as a shrub if you would prefer.  

    These are both great multi-purpose trees, providing a tasty fruit and nice foliage which turns great colors in the fall.  IMO, it has the best fall foliage of any fruit tree.

  4. Persimmons grow on trees, however you can train any thing to be in a brush form by pruning it . The fruit is ripe late Sept. into Oct.

  6. Yep either a tree or a bush.  Depends on how its trimmed and traind.  

    They make nice trees.
