I have a friend who's voice is really good..but needs a little bit of improvement.

But..she's not an American..she's from another country, but her family has settled here in the USA.

She really really wants to be a singer..but she's afraid that an agent might reject her

because she's not American=S

Any help on that?Thanks!

  1. She needs a work visa and a union card.

  2. Absolutely not, there's been thousands of singers of different nationalities who have been famous in America.

    Celine Dion-canadian

    Brian Adams  -Canadian

    Sade-Ethiopian

    Sinead O'Connor - Irish

    Elton John - English

    Scorpions (Klaus Mein) German

Get the picture?  I think talent will play into more than nationality.  It might actually help that she is "different"

  3. she can though. she probably should become an american citizen though.

  4. No there are already performers from all over the globe that come here. You just need the proper passport and visa to visit. If you are planning to live here then you need documents that allow that.

  5. an American idol ? lol

  6. Citizenship is not a requirement , but unfortunately in that industry you need to know someone to get in.   If she is specializing in a particular niche, she might have some success, but unlikely in the mainstream.   I heard a female muslim singer operating in teh US is one of he most listened to singer in the middle east.   Thalia, and other Mexican singers also operate at times in the US.   It's preferable that they work from the US then their home country, because of LosAngeles has more support for musicians than anywhere else.   We have alot of technicians and equipment that aid in improving the quality of sounds.

  7. celine is canadian.  works in us all the time.

  8. No.

There have been many foreign celebrities who have found success in the US.

    Olivia Newton John

    Celine Dion

    Julio Iglesias

    Keith Urban

    Paul McCartney (All the Beatles)

    Blondie

  9. she needs an american agent.  if they hear her voice, and she is as good as you say, then they should only care about the voice, not her accent, nor her skin colour nor her looks.

she doesnt need US citizenship, but it would help if she applied for a green card.

  10. No, but theres a lot of paper work you have to go through.
