Does a personal item count as the one bag you can carry on board?

Question

The personal item (like a laptop), would that count as the one bag you can carry on board a flight or not? It has been since February since I've been on a flight and I just want to make sure I can carry my laptop with me without having to pay for an extra bag. Thanks in advance!

You could carry the laptop and one other carry on for most flights and airlines.  Check with your airline to be certain.

most airlines let you take a carryon to put in the overhead, and then another one for below the seat. Check with the airlines too. but it shouldn't
