  1. Absolutely!

You may think that Cherie Blair was 'hated', but she moved in very influential circles, no matter how good a man is, he is still only as good as the woman behind him.

Take a look at the vitriol that was poured upon 'Mrs. Blair', did she throw a tantrum? no! did he? no! that is a partnership and a partnership that lasted.

The 'hate' came from where? the public? no! other politicians? no!

It all came from the press, perhaps they were in awe of a woman  who was so successful, or perhaps they were prejudiced because she was / is a catholic, who knows.

But the answer to your question, as a rule ....... yes.

  2. Definitely.  If your spouse is a loon, why did you marry them?  What does that say about the judgement of the person running for office?  Same goes for your pastor or religion.  Your core beliefs will affect your decisions on ALL matters.

  3. In some cases they do, such as Eleanor Roosevelt, and Jackie Kennedy, however in other cases they are a definite liability and for the most part are hidden away until the election is over, and only trotted out on certain occasions.
