  1. unless your teacher specified that they had to be dialogue quotes or quotes from a certain character, they can be quotes from any part of the book

  2. it doesn't matter where it's from if you are repeating the author word for word you have to use quotes

any part of a book you copy is in quotes

  3. Well, my english teachers let you use quotes that aren't people speaking. In fact, it's hard to find good quotes that AREN'T from communication.

  4. Reproducing written material obliges you to use quotes.... else it is plagiarism, which is a serious offense. Please use quotes if you are writing it word for word.

  5. i THINK a quote can be from a line in a book if you state the book as your source. if its someone speaking in the book then I THINK you have to state the character and the name of the book as your source

**im in honors english...but im not 100% sure about this so you might want to check with someone else before you hand it in**

good luck on the paper!! :-)
