i bought a hair straighter from a cart on the mall yesterday. she had one of those pads with retailer copy and a customer copy . the part that my husband signed came out of the credit card machine . after we had already paid for the item then she tore her copy of the pad off and gave us the yellow copy . on the yellow copy was stamped no returns . but you could not see that when we bought it and did not see no returns posted any where on the cart. are they required to tell you that ther is no returns

  1. No.  There is no implied right to return an item after sale.  Many sellers do allow returns, of course, but they do it as a way to build customer goodwill and make you more willing to buy.

Only in unusual circumstances is there a right to void the deal after an agreement.  There are provisions in the law with respect to door-to-door sales, for example.  Many jurisdictions also provide a "cooling off" period for sales where there has been a history of high pressure tactics (like gym memberships).

You are also entitled to your money back if the product was not as described.  If the box with the "hair straightener" was actually empty or had a different item inside, that would be fraud.  But if you just decided the next day that you didn't need it or could buy it cheaper somewhere else, there is no automatic right to return the product.

This is probably not the answer you were looking for, but I do hope it helps.  Good luck!!
