Well, it could help a park with poor attendance.

A new roller coaster usually brings more people to the park, which could solve the attendance problem.

As for riders, it could solve problems dealing with boredom and lack of thrills/adrenaline.

Probably not problems of world peace or hunger or those types . . .  but a roller coaster is a great bit of escapist entertainment and usually quite fun.
