Does a rugby players cauliflower ears, affect his hearing?

Just seen a few on tv and they've got such bad ones, that it looks like the hole is almost covered up. Just wondered. (Does this make me look as though I spend my Saturday nights with nothing better to do?) Well, you're right I'm bored silly.

  2. To some extent, yes. The outer ear is shaped to collect and direct sound waves toward the ear "canal".

  3. My right ear is cauliflowered from martial arts and i can hear just as well out of that then I can with my left ear. So I would have to say no.

  8. no, as in most cases its just the skin and cartiladge of the ear that are swolen. in some cases, however, it can effect the hearing, as it blocks the ear canal.
