  1. If u don't have metal conduit it would not do any good to  connect it to the box. If your receptacle is self grounding leave it as is .Check the wiring maybe u have a ground wire in the cable itself.


  2. I always ground everything. Pigtail the ground wire to the box and the receptacle. Especially if there is no grounded pipe connected to the box. Better to be safe. I believe NEC 2008 requires grounding metal boxes in 250.110

  3. The receptacle needs to be grounded. - So does the box.

    If The rec.'s listed as self grounding, it bonds to the box if properly installed.

    If there's no metal conduit or cable jacket to supply a grouind,

    then the ground wire of your feeder should be connected to

    the metalic box to ground both.

  4. No.  But you should have a ground wire hook to the box from the breaker panel.  Or you could hook the ground wire up to the receptacle which ever is easiest.
