Not including the final set, do the other sets have to be won by two games or by a tiebreak? Such as 6-4, 7-5?

  1. yes, at 4-4 and 5-5.  except for 7-6.  thats won in a tiebreak

  2. you can win a set

    60

    61

    62

    63

    64

    75

    or 76 in a tiebreak

  3. Yes. Except for 7-6, which is determined by a tiebreaker.

  4. Yes... and no. If you're opponent wins five or less games, you would have to win by two games. But, if you and your opponent are tied at six games apiece, then the set would go to a tiebreaker which you would have to win by (you guessed it) two points.

However, in Grand Slam events other than the US Open, where there is no final set tiebreaker, you would have to win that last set by (once again) two games.

That number seems to be the magic number in tennis...
