Does a smile really matter...?

im 18 years old and i recently entered a modeling contest in my area, were first u auditon and out of the auditons there are 14 finalists, the winner of the 14 gets a contract with MCA motors, a contract with a top modeling agency, money, certificates, a scholership, and a opportunity to be in the next miss latina belleza (its a latin contest)...well i have really bad teeth, im getting them fixed right now but i need braces really bad and i have alot of cavaties, about 2 months of work before i get braces, i wanted to know, are my teeth going to affect me alot, do i even have a chance of competing with my smile? i really really want this but im afraid my teeth ruin all my chances

Yes, unfortunately in modeling a smile does matter. I do model- and have bad teeth(but only 2 of my teeth). And when I first went to my agency they said it would affect my jobs b/c they do have open mouth shots and all.

Smile anyway,even if u have bad teeth.Believe me ,a smile makes all the difference in the world! I'd rather have someone smile at me w/bad teeth rather than give the impression that they don't like u or are not happy to be there.A smile can let people know u are friendly,happy & interested in conversing w/them rather than giving them what they will percieve as a frown and think u are stuck up & unfriendly.Good Luck.

dont worry about wat people think. if your a model u sohouldnt b so insecure, people should b insecure about u. judges not only look for the beauty inside AND outside. i used to b the same way but wen i took a pic of me smiling i looked great! work ur beauty and b proud of your self and who u r. dont worry about braces. just remeber, models do it better!but it will affect it a lil but some people now a days r lookin 4 real peoplz that are bigger n sive and not the perfect skinny blueeyed blonde.IDEA! try and get those clear braces. m friend has them and they dont show until u take them out. um i think theyre called in-visi-line. watevs look online. be tru 2 ur self!

mayb if you get your braces sorta a few months before hand so your teeth look straight with the braces and possibly you could get porcelain braces thats what i got and nobody could tell in heaps of photos but then agen wen i modelled as a kid i didnt have braces and my teeth werent bad but you shouldnt worry being a model is about looks like you also want to be a role model and people have to except that they have flaws so walk out there proud with your braces :) if people dont like it thats their problem

ehhh..  well its a competition entirely based on looks so.. yeah it would affect your chance a lot
