yes...I got one in 2004 .The travel agent Flight Centre arranged it. It cost me about R350.00

To visit Australia? Yes of course, everyone needs a visa to visit Australia or almost any country in the world. If your not a to tourist you need a visa to whatever your going to do eg. to work: work visa. Everyone except New Zealanders must have a visa to land in Australia. As you're from South Africa, you will be unable to obtain an Electronic Travel Advice (ETA) and will need to apply per the information in the links from this section of the Australian Government Immigration and Citizenship website-
