  1. FIRST:  Go to Kawasaki's Main Website. (Factory Specs) and  also, Pick up a Repair Guide for your Bike. (about $ 45 to $ 75 bucks).

Since this is an Off-Road Bike design, you are dealing with a lot of Spokes. These alone are a good reason to use a Tube, even if not required.  ANY TIRE can be used with a tube.  Always safer with a tube whether on the road or in the woods or dirt.  I ride a Cruiser with Tubeless Tires and I have the Added Safety of Tubes in my Tires.

You sound in need of a TUNE-UP... and you sound kind of new to this.

    Check the following:

    Air Filter.....................Replace if dirty. I recommend K&N

Filters to Replace ALL your Filters.

    Fuel Filter..................Replace if dirty.

Carburetor.................Clean & Adjust air to fuel ratio and

       Adjust Idle when warm.

...Unless you have Fuel Injection.  If fuel Injected try

running a good in-fuel cleaner or bring to Shop and have

       them cleaned.

Spark Plugs..............Check condition, Replace if req'd.

       Be sure to Gap correctly.

Points (if req'd.)........Check condition, Replace if req'd.

       Be sure to Gap correctly.

Does Your bike have a choke?  Fuel Injected Bikes DO NOT require a choke. Injectors do that job.

NOTE:  Use High Test (91 or better) in your bike.  It will run better, give you better mileage, longer engine life, etc.  Bikes burn Fuel Very Efficiently, unlike Cars or Trucks.

For instance: My friend and neighbor has the same model Bike that I do.  His is a 2003 and he has to Choke it and warm it up by slight choke adjustments.  Mine is a 2005 and is Fuel Injected.  One swift kick of my right thumb and I just let it warm up.  Ho, Hum.  Yes, I'm Spoiled.

Always make sure your Oil is clean and Change your Oil & Filter.  Dirty Oil or Half-Full Oil will stop your bike from sputtering... Uh...FOREVER!!!

If You are blowing Blue Smoke out of your exhaust you may have Oil Blow-by and need Rings.  This can be serious if you let it go... Blown Engine Serious.

If You are not comfortable doing this stuff yourself, please, bring it to a Trusted Shop and have it done.

Good Luck to You and "Keep the Shiny Side Up!"

  2. if you have the bike with you check the tire it should say right on it wether its tubeless or not. most are nowadays, tubeless that is. asfor your idle problem check if its jeted right, if you dont know how to do this take it to a shop, beter to be safe then pay alot more when you do take it in after you messed with it. good luck. and ride safe.

  3. No, it came stock with tubes.  If you replace the tube, be sure and get a new rim band as well.  You can put tubeless tires on your wheels, just be sure and put the new tube and tire band in first.  Just because it says tubeless on the tire does not mean it will work on a tube type rim without a tube.  The air will leak out around the spoke nipples, where the spokes attach to the outer rim unless the word tubeless is stamped into the rim.

If it's not idling right, I would check the air filter, they get dirty easily, and you might want to think about a carb cleaning as well.  There's a couple of rubber diaphragms in that carb that need to be replaced about every 10 years, one controls the venturi slide that could affect your idle.  Do a spark plug inspection to make sure it's clean and properly gapped.

  4. (Yes 100% YES)**WRONG thanks guy below me i was thinking of a different bike... and yeah its probably the spark plug gapping... 1975 harley was idling rough and gapping solved the problem.... go to a shop to do this.... unless you realy know bikes

Oh, and almost forgot  to fix the second problem you would need to increase your idle speed... carburated bikes have that problem

if you don't know how go to a local shop, or swing by my shop good luck and ride safe
