Does a tattoo on your back hurt??????

I'm a 17 year old male and I'm thinkin about getting a tattoo for my birthday in November. I'm thinking about getting a medium sized scorpion tattoed in the middle part of my upper back? how bad does it hurt? how much do u think it will cost? i'd appreciate the advice thanks.

i had a butterfly done on the back of my shoulder when i was 20yo and it hurt a lot.

i just had 3 butterflies done on the top of my shoulder and they didn't hurt at all. just felt a few needle pricks.

but any who... the main thing is a tattoo will hurt in some way. don't sherk it and just take it like the almost man you are lol

as for price... it depends on the parlor and artist.

yours will probly run $100-125 depending on detail and time it takes to complete.

I have a tattoo at the bottom half of my back, down to my bottocks, and it doesn't hurt that much, although I have no previous experience as comparison.

When the needle hits the spine, I didn't feel any pain at all. But when it reaches my bottocks and waist, THAT hurts.

Maybe it's a different feel for different people.

I have a big lotus flower in the middle of my back.  when the needle goes over your spine you can feel your teeth rattle.  It HURTS.  I have tattoos in other places and none of them hurt nearly as much.

I had a back/shoulder done when I was 19 and it didn't hurt that much - more like a niggling hot discomfort than actual pain.  However, friends who have had tattoos over the spine say that they're much worse because you're not as fleshy there - bony areas apparently hurt more.

Sorry, I can't say how much it would cost as mine was 20 years ago!
