Does a used digital camera (also takes films) count as a personal effect when travelling to India?

i.e will I have to declare it at customs? Shall I keep it in my hand luggage?

  1. No you don't need to declare that to customs. But keep it in your hand luggage because you can't lock your suitcase so its always better to keep all valuable things in your hand luggage.  


  2. Was there a till receipt for it?  Did you buy it from a store?  If you bought it from a store, then I would claim it.  If it was a cash sale, and no transaction record for it, then don't.
