Question:

Does a warrant officer salute...?

I'm not sure about the rules and regulations or anything about Army warrant officers, but do they salute commissioned officers? Like would a CW3 salute a 2LT? I've never actually seen it but I'm just curious if anyone knows what's supposed to happen or if they even salute anyone at all.

  1. Enlisted salute Warrants and Commissioned

    Warrant Salute Commissioned

    from the bottom

    E1-E9

    WO1-CW4

    O1-O10

  2. I believe that warrant officers regardless of their rank, still salute all commissioned officers, even 2LTs! I believe the warrant officer corps is sandwiched between the enlisted and the officer corps. I'm not 100% sure, but I think lieutenants receive a salute first from a warrant, then salutes back in proper custom.

  3. The answer to your question Young man is of course warrants salute,  all officers to include other warrants that out rank them. So yes a warrant regardless of grade would salute a 2Lt. But warrants have an unwritten code that we don't salute each other.

  4. Yes, you Salute anyone that's of a rank higher then 2nd Lieutenant. Because S/He is classed as a Commissioned Officer. If you are also a Commissioned Officer you don't salute any rank below you, you do however have to salute any rank higher then you. It of course depends on the ranking system though, if you're in the British Army then what I said above applies.

  5. Yes, Warrant officers salute all officers, and the salute Warrants of higher rank.
