  1. No. Not at all.

  2. The only pollution that would come from wind turbines would be in the manufacturing of them.  Materials used in their construction would still be ultimately mined materials.  In the end, the problem with wind turbines is there are only certain regions were it becomes feasible for long term usage.  They usually operate between 4-50mph winds.  Although they use 'free' wind, they are still largely expensive and can at best take up 25% of our power output since the summer has less winds when power is a maximum

  3. yes the carbon from the brushes of the generator.

plus all the carbon from manufacturing them

  4. uh, are you that ignorant?

  5. I think it helps prevent it.

  6. theres no pollution, its powered by the wind

    its earth friendly

  7. Only when the windmill is built and transported to the site. From there on out it actually produces energy, and that energy is 100% carbon free.

  8. One concern is the impact it has on local birds. Another is the possible noise pollution it puts out.

  9. Yes it does. WIndmills have Plantics in them. Plantics alone, in just one windmill, give of more carbon than 10 cars.

  10. The primary complaint about windmills is that the blades kill bats and birds.  They don't rotate at high rpm's, but they are huge and that means the tip of the outside of the blades are really moving.  Whether they account for more deaths than say tall buildings I could not say.  They do not give off pollution.

  11. Building the wind mill produces carbon, the windmill itself only chops up migratory birds and costs so much you can't afford the electricity without government subsities.
