If you purchase a wireless card for a laptop, you must get a PCMCIA wireless card.  Desktop computers use PCI or PCI-E cards.   There is a slot, usually on the side of a laptop that you can insert a PCMCIA card.  You can also get USB wireless network cards that do the same thing but plug into the USB port.  It's what ever your preference is.

    Your Wireless Adapaptor will work in Parallal Data accessing mode.

    But Your USB will work on Serial Data Accessing Mode
